So, this boxy, bodacious little beauty (or beast, depending on your personal point of view) is the Toyota FT-EV II concept. It is set to be revealed at the motor show in Tokyo.
The vehicle is designed for urban use. It is propelled electrically, and it is a commuter with four seats. It is supposed to focus on the relationship existing between people, cars, and what society will be like in the future.
The vehicle adopts the Vibrant Clarity design philosophy being used by Toyota. Its front cowl is low and there is an added window located right below the windshield, which is meant to allow more forward visibility. There are clusters of rear lamps, made with LED units which are see through, and they are designed to improve the driver’s visibility from all the way around.
I have to admit, I love Volkswagen vehicles. Back in the day, I even loved the Rabbit. I think the Beetles are absolutely adorable, not to mention completely efficient, and I love nothing in the world more than I love the VW Volvo. But, I have to further admit, I am not yet sure how I feel about the VW Golf Plus.
This is the second generation for the Golf Plus; it was launched just this year, back in March.
Sure, the body is classic, especially in reference to the sixth generation of the standard Golf, and it took some of its cues from the brand new Scirocco, as well. You can definitely see it in the front end.
The features are all great, it is the look of the car itself I am not so sure about, but who knows? Maybe it will grow on me in time.
Just so you know, this is actually not a box. It is actually the Nissan Cube, and I have just got to say, that is probably the most apt name for any vehicle, ever. This is the boxiest, most square shaped thing I have ever seen since I first laid eyes on my very first car — the boxy as you please Isuzu Eyemark.
This thing … I really just cannot decide if I think it is cute or hideous. I shudder to think how many square and L7 jokes you would hear if you happened to be driving this thing around, though.
On the plus side, the design provides heightened visibility inside, in front and in back, thanks to the asymmetrical wraparound window in the rear. Supposedly the rear door is made in a refrigerator style.
Uhm…
I do not have a single, solitary negative thing to say about the new Infiniti G convertible. This car is so hot it is practically on fire — you can almost see it smoldering; even through the picture, you can almost see the smoke rise out of it!
Speaking of the picture, that might be why I have such an affinity for this gorgeous convertible. Somebody really got it right, pairing this smoky blue color with the cloudy twilight sky.
In terms of specifications, this is the second generation for the G37 coupe. It is a 2009 version, but really, who cares? I mean, it is powered by a 3.7 liter V6 engine, it has leather seats, a great power walk in device that moves the seats in the front so folks in the back can get in and out more easily, and an air conditioning system that can automatically tell whether the top is up or down.
Seriously, what more could you ask for?
For me not being a Ford lover and for me to be writing a blog like this – I have to say, it is pretty rare. Ford is actually coming out with some of the best cars in the world and I have to say that their 2010 lineup is something that I am actually looking forward to. For example, the 2010 Ford Grand C-Max is actually one SUV that I am looking forward to … which is weird!
Personally, I think that the ‘soccer-mom’ mini-van days are a thing of the past because of things like the 2010 Ford Grand C-Max. While this SUV seems to be based off of the Pontiac Vibe, which I personally own, I think that the Grand C-Max is actually a fantastic comparison … and it looks chic!
Chic, stylish and fashionable – those are the three words that I would use to describe the all new 2010 Ford Grand C-Max!
When you think about it – Chrysler is actually the only auto group that truly doesn’t lease cars or trucks. In July 2008, they announced that they were not going to lease anymore vehicles, now however – they might have to actually switch up that kind of thinking. The reason for the stopping of the leasing was because they were trying to force buyers into actually buying a car versus just leasing it.
However – the plan kind of back-fired on them, as after leasing was discontinued, Chrysler’s market share actually dropped by about 11.3% to 9.2%. The decline was in part by Chrysler’s very public bankruptcy proceedings and it very lackluster product line, however there is little doubt that this year – Chrysler will be back on track.
It seems that leasing is going to be coming back as well, on September 18th actually, it should be coming back for the general public!
We all know that GM is changing the way that they think – they are changing the way that they do things and they are certainly changing the way that they truly act. While 2009 has been a very, very tough year for this particular auto group, they finally have some good news. The workers for GM have taken the hits the most it seems and now – finally, the Human Resources VP Mary Barra sent out an official missive telling that the 3 – 7% pay cuts that everyone was feeling have been restored.
This is huge – for everyone and as of September 1st, they finally are able to bring the funds back up and while the senior executives are not the ones that get to take advantage of this … well, the workers do. GM has actually saved $50 million dollars by giving those cuts during the last four months and right now – they are able to give it back.
To me, that is something that is really good for the blue collars, while the white collars might have to suffer a little bit – they don’t get to get their third car this year … big deal right?
There is no doubt about it: the new 2010 Audi R8 V10 just looks powerful — and by all accounts, that look carries over to its performance.
This is one fast car. And that is actually quite the understatement. A lot of features carried over from last year’s V8 model, but at the same time there have been plenty of improvements which lead this Audi R8 to be a real speed machine. While you can drive sedately to work in this car if that is your choice, it wears another hat as well, one which allows you to perchance take the back roads on your way home — and leave your mark in rising dust, windswept leaves, and a feeling like you are seriously flying.
Several auto blogs and car news sites have gotten sneak peeks of the new Volkswagen jewel, so of course we here at Cars Blog had to bring the news to you, our faithful readers.
Mainly because for as highly popular as VW vehicles have been in the past, they are becoming even more sought after as drivers look for fuel efficient cars.
Of course, if a vehicle stays the same year after year, then every “new” model starts to taste a little like beans. Thus, some drivers have gotten a bit disenchanted with the Jetta — which is why VW endeavored to change the look for the 2011 Jetta Sedan.
Though you cannot see much in the spy shots, several things are noteworthy, such as the angular side window in the rear, some very cool looking taillights, sharper lines in general, and a roof that seems to swoop.
Recreational vehicles — otherwise, and more simply, known as RVs — are getting a makeover. At least, those manufactured by Dunkel Industries are certainly getting a brand new look, and with it will come some brand new capabilities as well.
To hear the full name — the Dunkel Industries Luxury 4×4 — probably makes you think of something else entirely. A Land Rover, maybe, or the appropriately hot Cayenne manufactured by Porsche. But no, the Luxury 4×4 refers to the 2009 RV built by Dunkel. And boy, is it ever a doozy.
For one thing, the RV is much, much bigger than you may be imagining. Even the picture hardly does it justice. To give you an idea, consider this: it contains the commercial chassis of the Ford F-650.
The interior features Fiberglass, leather, and wood. A 55mph speed limit is not necessary. Other features include a shower, a box for firewood; built in camp chairs; custom seats and cabinets; a stereo, CD player, DVD player, Bluetooth, Navigation, and a laptop in the center dash; a seat that turns into a bed in the rear; a tilt bed; and many, many more.
