The Skoda Superb: Superb or Sub Par?

Skoda SuperbSo, is the Skoda Superb aptly name or is that just wishful thinking on the part of the automakers? The Czech company did not release any official pictures of their new car until fairly recently — it’s a 2008, but if you’re like me, sometimes a 2008 is all you want to think about being able to afford.

Many of you may not be familiar with the Skoda name, so here’s a little bit of name dropping to jog some memories and erase some skepticism: Volkswagen is the parent company. This also goes a long way towards explaining why the Superb looks quite a bit like the popular Passat, at least on the outside.

One thing you have to say for the car — buyers will get a choice of six engines. Three of them run on petrol and three of them run on diesel.

The Volkswagen Golf Plus Is Definitely a Plus!

Volkswagen Golf PlusI have to admit, I love Volkswagen vehicles.  Back in the day, I even loved the Rabbit.  I think the Beetles are absolutely adorable, not to mention completely efficient, and I love nothing in the world more than I love the VW Volvo.  But, I have to further admit, I am not yet sure how I feel about the VW Golf Plus.

This is the second generation for the Golf Plus; it was launched just this year, back in March.

Sure, the body is classic, especially in reference to the sixth generation of the standard Golf, and it took some of its cues from the brand new Scirocco, as well. You can definitely see it in the front end.

The features are all great, it is the look of the car itself I am not so sure about, but who knows? Maybe it will grow on me in time.

I Spy: The 2011 VW Jetta Sedan

01-2011-jetta-kgp-620opSeveral auto blogs and car news sites have gotten sneak peeks of the new Volkswagen jewel, so of course we here at Cars Blog had to bring the news to you, our faithful readers.

Mainly because for as highly popular as VW vehicles have been in the past, they are becoming even more sought after as drivers look for fuel efficient cars.

Of course, if a vehicle stays the same year after year, then every “new” model starts to taste a little like beans. Thus, some drivers have gotten a bit disenchanted with the Jetta — which is why VW endeavored to change the look for the 2011 Jetta Sedan.

Though you cannot see much in the spy shots, several things are noteworthy, such as the angular side window in the rear, some very cool looking taillights, sharper lines in general, and a roof that seems to swoop.

2010 Volkswagen Touareg HybridNow that we have talked a little bit about the auto industry, let’s focus our attentions on some of the latest and greatest cars that are coming out nowadays.  Take the 2010 Volkswagen Touareg Hybrid.  This car is absolutely incredible all over the place and it was actually launched to the market a little while ago at the Frankfurt auto show, but honestly, I think that this car is incredible all the way around!

The 2010 Volkswagen Touareg Hybrid is the latest and greatest thing from VW and it is actually their first hybrid car, which I have to say – it is great to see that they finally got with the picture and decided to come out with a hybrid car.  This car is also pretty cool under the hood too, with a V-6 engine and a 3.0 liter, supercharge helps this awesome car to have all sorts of power!
