The Bugatti Veyron: Not for a Million Dollars
No, you really will not have to pay a million dollars to own the Bugatti Veyron — it is actually more like two million for the coveted Grand Sport. The question is — what were these manufacturers thinking, marking a price like that at a time like this?
They are thinking that people want a convertible like this. They are thinking that even drivers in France love it, which is almost unheard of. They are thinking people will pay prices like this if it means getting a car that will get past 62 miles per hour in less than three seconds; up beyond the 124 mph mark in a little over seven seconds; and up to 186 miles per hour in just over sixteen and a half seconds.
They are thinking that a car with one thousand — and one — horsepower is worth a whopping two mil.
Is it? Well, that’s not for me to say — but I could think of better things to spend two million bucks on, myself.
