There were tons of surprises at this year’s annual motor show in Geneva, and for one of the largest, we have Porsche to thank.

They unveiled a brand new concept and man, it is a dynamic little doozy.

This concept is known as the 918 Spyder. Porsche, right in Germany, can be thanked for the design, but the creation of this sleek stunner occured in Turin, courtesy of Vercarmodel Saro.

More information as it occurs. Thus far, besides knowing that this is one sexy car, we know that the design revolves around the rather iconic 917.

It is incredibly innovative, and rather edgy at that — score one for Kia!

The concept got its big reveal at Chicago’s motor show. The Korean manufacturer especially wanted to highlight its desire to produce a more environmentally efficient automobile. One result of that desire is this new plug in hybrid, which combines bold engineering and design. The materials used to build it are not only lightweight, they are also recycled.

The Ray concept is based around the popular platform used for the Kia Forte. The surfaces are clean and sleek, with no angles or edges that are not necessary.

It has everything, from solar cells to floating seat frames.

Well, this car, for one. It is the newest concept from Toyota Kirloskar Motor Pvt. Ltd., otherwise known as TKM. It is scheduled to be revealed in New Delhi at the beginning of the month, at the Auto Expo for 2010.

Two different models will be unveiled: a four door model and a five door model. Nevertheless, the concept represents a compact car, one that will be available in India later in 2010. Succinctly, the company maintains that the Etios is designed to combine quality features with new technology.

As it happens, the Etios was developed especially for India.

During the developmental process, many cities and even homes in the country were visited, so that developers and designers could actually see what consumers wanted and needed.

This car is marketed by HSCI — otherwise known as the Honda Siel Cars India Ltd., which is the subsidiary in India for the Japanese manufacturer. Meaning that, although the concept — called the Honda New Small Concept — will be unveiled in January in New Delhi, at the 2010 Auto Expo, it is pretty much only going to be available in India and Thailand, and not until 2011 at that.

Many design elements that are characteristic of Honda can be seen on the concept. The theme under which it was designed is known as Efficient Energetic Exterior.

It is like a belated Christmas present!

The SR1 concept is a 2+1 that is made to show off a superbly stylistic design — one the brand intends to incorporate in future models, in fact.

The SR1 concept is a hardtop convertible, the first embodiment of Peugeot’s new design aesthetic — which includes the brand new Lion badge, seen on the sculpted, sleek hood of the car.

The concept is a variation on the theme of Grand Touring vehicles and it is meant to aid the driver in explorations.

The brand new Honda CR-Z Concept Car is not only awesome, but it is one car that I think that is going to make all sorts of waves. Although Toyota sort of stole Honda’s thunder by announcing that they were going to unveil a brand new compact car at the same show … the Honda CR-Z Concept Car concept is still something that I am excited about.

So Honda – show off your true colors and let the Honda CR-Z Concept Car out of the box at the Delhi Motor Show!

I want one — and who knows, maybe once the Mini Coupe concept makes it to production, I will finally be able to get one.

You might see some similarities dating way back to 1997, with the original, first Mini Cooper Monte Carlo concept. However, only in that, as BMW did, this concept is going to take the famed British car into a brand new direction, one that is not just muscular, but almost like a street rod.

The Coupe matches the hatchback in width and length, but it is not as high. Inside, it is pretty much what you would expect, although the dashboard is much more attractive with lots of finish and a luxurious leather trim.

The concept is also an MPV. It was recently unveiled at this year’s motor show in Tokyo.

There are no B pillars in the concept vehicle. Its front doors scissor, its rear doors slide; both sets thus provide easy access to the inside of the vehicle. The components of the hybrid system, such as the vehicle’s high battery, are located in the central tunnel of the car, so the vehicle’s center of gravity is lower. Cabin space is also increased because of this design. As a result, there are three rows comprised of two seats each.

Mitsubishi alone will be revealing a whopping sixteen cars at the show — including this one, the Mitsubishi Concept PX-MiEV, which is a plug in crossover.

The keywords in mind when the Japanese manufacturer was creating this car were: simple, solid, and safe. Well, judging by looks alone, they definitely got the solid and simple portion in there quite well.

You will fine no erroneous elements on the exterior of this vehicle, which makes it well nigh impossible to tell that it is considered a sports utility vehicle in the first place.

I have to tell you, I think the vehicle looks a little weird, especially around the front. However, I don’t think that it is necessarily a bad kind of weird. Then again, I have always been a fan of Mitsubishi.

Then you have absolutely got to check out the Honda CR-Z concept. It’s not even crazy, it is cuh-raaay-zeee!

You know the Honda CR-X, a rather iconic vehicle all on its own, right? Well, this is the successor to that icon, and it is getting that much closer to its big production debut. This is yet another vehicle that will be launched at the upcoming motor show in Tokyo. It will be the second version of this car to be unveiled in the last two years.

Honda has wanted to bring a sports car with hybrid power to the market for quite a number of years now — probably ever since 2006, with the display of the Remix concept.

The Honda CR-Z represents their chance to do just that.
