GM Employees Pay Cuts To Be Restored: Some Of Them

GMWe all know that GM is changing the way that they think – they are changing the way that they do things and they are certainly changing the way that they truly act.  While 2009 has been a very, very tough year for this particular auto group, they finally have some good news.  The workers for GM have taken the hits the most it seems and now – finally, the Human Resources VP Mary Barra sent out an official missive telling that the 3 – 7% pay cuts that everyone was feeling have been restored.

This is huge – for everyone and as of September 1st, they finally are able to bring the funds back up and while the senior executives are not the ones that get to take advantage of this … well, the workers do.  GM has actually saved $50 million dollars by giving those cuts during the last four months and right now – they are able to give it back.

To me, that is something that is really good for the blue collars, while the white collars might have to suffer a little bit – they don’t get to get their third car this year … big deal right?

Pontiac Vibe: Will There Be One In ‘10?

5151_st0640_046So you are all probably wondering exactly what is going to be happening to the Pontiac brand itself right?  Well, GM is fazing them out and the very first car that they are getting rid of is the Pontiac Vibe. This August is when they will absolutely stop all production on this incredible car and that is such a shame to me!  Personally, I drive around a 2003 Vibe and was looking into purchasing another one but Pontiac as a whole is going to be phased out.

First the Pontiac Vibe is going to be gone and then the next car that is on the line is the G6 and so on and so forth, but really … I think that Pontiac is a fantastic brand and I think that they should have figured out something else to phase out – however, that is my opinion and mine alone.

What do you guys think?  Do you believe that the Pontiac brand should have been phased out at all?
